Feb. 6th, 2012, will mark the 36th anniversary of the illegal arrest and unlawful incarceration of Native American political prisoner, Leonard Peltier. The Leonard Peltier Defense Offense Committee (LPDOC) has called for a world wide day of solidarity with Leonard Peltier: http://www.whoisleonardpeltier.info/04FebSolidarity.htm.
In addition to the live music, there will be displays of Leonard Peltier's artwork, readings from his book, "Prison Writings: My Life is My Sun Dance," vending from local Native American artisans, and open mic time for folks to speak about Leonard Peltier and related issues. Help to end 36 long years of injustice and one of America's greatest Human Rights travesties.
“I don’t know how to save the world. I don’t have the answers or The Answer. I hold no secret knowledge as to how to fix the mistakes of generations past and present. I only know that without compassion and respect for all of Earth’s inhabitants, none of us will survive—nor will we deserve to.”― Leonard Peltier, Prison Writings: My Life Is My Sun Dance
